I’ve never really been a fan of the Transformers, so I am probably not the best person to review Transformers Animated Season 1. The creation of these autobots came a little too late for me as a child, as I was a little older than the targeted age group. However I have always been a little intrigued by these transforming autobots and I have kind of viewed them from afar throughout the years. Transformers Animated is an American/Japanese animated TV series on The Cartoon Network. The artwork is Japanese Anime in style and is geared for younger audiences, unlike the major Motion Picture based on The Transformers.
Autobots Bumble Bee, Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Prowl and Bulkhead have taken it upon themselves to protect Allspark, which is their new home on earth; in doing so the five Transformers find themselves in battle with the Decepticons. Sari Sumdac is an 8 year old girl who becomes an honorary member Autobot and is the keeper of The Key.
Transformers Animated Season One is a two disc DVD containing 13 episodes from the first season. It is packed with close to 300 minutes of footage and includes a photo gallery sneak peek at season two. Whether you are an adult fan of the Transformers or you have a child who recently became attached to these likeable Autobots this DVD set is a must for you. Since I myself am not a fan of this franchise I did find myself remotely enjoying some of these episodes and I could see how this would appeal directly to children ages 6 to 11 years old.
