Phineas and Ferb are step brothers and the two have concocted make the most of every second of their 104 days of summer. What, pray tell can these two ever come up with to fill the days? How about building a multi-level haunted house in their backyard, fix up their mom’s car to enter the Swampoil 500 Race, form a rock band and become a one hit wonder, and build a time machine. Not bad for four days of vacation, wouldn’t you think? The great thing is these boys masterminded all of this without their mother knowing it. However, this was not without their sister Candace (voice of Ashley Tisdale) plotting to get the boys caught and with great failure. If this is not enough the boys’ pet platypus (who is also a secret agent named “Agent P”) embarks on secret missions to thwart his nemesis Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s evil plans of domination.
As I watched this show with my children, not only am I in awe in how much they love this show I also think, “Why couldn’t a show this cool have been on when I was a kid.” Both of my children love the show and I find myself watching it with them whenever it comes on TV. This is a fun DVD and will probably most appeal to children in the 3 to 9 year old range. Extras include “Phineas and Ferb’s Homemade Tree Shade Arcade”, Backstage Disney and other activities. Phineas and Ferb: The Fast and the Phineas is a great DVD and would be a great addition to any family DVD library.
