Grey's Anatomy

The Complete Fourth Season

ABC Studios

Grey’s Anatomy made its television in May of 2005 and has since become one of America’s most beloved shows.  Winning both Emmy’s and Golden Globe Awards in 2008, 2007 and 2006 Grey’s Anatomy has become a show that has won over a large television viewing audience.  The show takes place in Seattle’s Grace Hospital and revolves around the life, romances and work of Meredith Grey and her friends who bonded together solid but somewhat dysfunctional friendships during their internship at the hospital.

In season four Meredith and friends are now all residents and a new batch of interns have arrived for the doctors to mentor with the exception of George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) who needs to go through the program again.  One of the interns is Lexie Grey (Meredith’s half sister) becomes the intern of Dr. Yang and chooses some inopportune times to try and establish her relationship with her half sister.  Most of the episodes deal with the rising relational tensions of Dr. Grey and Dr. Sheherd and in this season we see their long term relationship severed.  Other issues deal with the doctor’s pressures from being intern’s to now being residents and the stresses that come with these responsibilities.  Most of season four deals heavily with the ongoing, and mostly unhealthy, romantic relationships of the doctors which all culminate to a cliff hanger season finale.

This five disc DVD set includes all 17 episodes of season four with tons of bonus features.  Some of the features include “New Docs on the Block” where the viewer is introduced to Dr. Lexie Grey, Dr. Hahn and Nurse Rose.  Also included are extended episodes, audio commentary, bloopers and deleted scenes.  Another highlight is a behind the scenes moments with Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane.

All in all Grey’s Anatomy:  The Complete Fourth Season is a great DVD set to add to your collection.  I wouldn’t suggest picking up the series at this point; I would suggest starting from the beginning.  However if you are a fan of the show and you are collecting the series on DVD then this is a must for you.
