Brian Regan

The Epitome Of Hyperbole

Paramount Home Entertainment/ Comedy Central

There are few comedians that I enjoy as much as Brian Regan.  Regan is among a dying breed of comedians who is actually talented as comedian that he doesn’t need to resort to vulgarity to get a laugh out of his audience.  He is a novelty because he is actually funny and is enjoyable to watch and listen to.

His newest DVD release is entitled Epitome of Hyperbole and is packed with nearly an hour of all new material from Regan.  Known for his confident strut, outlandish facial expressions, and side splitting humor Brian Regan does not fail to deliver.  Recorded in Denver, CO for Comedy Central Regan talks about everything from psychics, Donkey’s with good senses of humor to how men and women differ in their communication skills.  Filmed in front of a jam packed house Brian Regan has the audience laughing from the opening lines to his closing bit.

Epitome of Hyperbole was a fun DVD to watch.  Unfortunately the actual show was only 40 minutes and left me wanting more.  However some of the bonus material does fill a small portion of that need but not nearly enough.  Bonus material includes Regan’s encore which is basically 3 minutes of him taking requests from the audience to do older material including, “Dora The Explorer” and “Walkie Talkie”.  Another bonus is a 15 minute short entitled, “The Backstage Story” which is basically a behind the scenes look at how they made the DVD.  I would highly recommend this DVD, just don’t pay too much for it since it is VERY short.
